Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bag frozen fries
- 8 oz top sirloin
- 1 cup cheddar or mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1 jalapeno pepper, sliced
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/3 cup cilantro, chopped
- 1 cup store bought pico de gallo
- 1 cup store bought guacamole
- Sour cream to serve, optional
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 2 tbsp soy sauce or tamari to make gluten-free
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp cumin
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp each salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C). Bake the fries according to the package directions, typically about 10-12 minutes per side.
- While the fries are baking, marinate the top sirloin steak for at least 15 minutes and up to 2 hours in olive oil, lime juice, soy sauce, chili powder, cumin, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated steak for 2-3 minutes on each side, depending on the thickness. Allow the steak to rest for at least 5 minutes before dicing it into pieces.
- Once the fries are out of the oven, sprinkle the cheese on top and return them to the oven for an additional 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted. Divide the fries among six plates and add the diced steak, pico de gallo, guacamole, jalapenos, and cilantro on top.
- Serve with additional sour cream if desired and enjoy!
Notes
For a spicier kick, leave the seeds in the jalapeno pepper.
Ensure the steak is rested before cutting for the best texture.
Feel free to customize toppings based on your preferences.
