Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 2 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 8 ounces full-fat brick cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Start by beating the softened butter and powdered sugar in a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment on low speed.
  2. Gradually increase the speed to medium-high to avoid a sugar cloud.
  3. Continue mixing for 3 minutes until the mixture is powdery but starts to come together.
  4. Add the softened cream cheese one piece at a time, mixing a few times after each addition and scraping down the bowl as necessary.
  5. Finally, mix in the vanilla extract and salt. If the frosting is too runny, add a bit more powdered sugar.

Notes

Ensure both butter and cream cheese are softened for best texture.
If frosting is too thick, add a tablespoon of milk to adjust.
This frosting can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
